Marian Rivera focuses her practice primarily in the areas of Maritime and Admiralty law. She has geared her practice mainly to the representation of cruise lines, vessel owners, domestic and foreign tour operators and other entities in the hospitality and tourism industries. Marian has extensive experience handling a wide variety of maritime claims in state and federal court, as well as in arbitration, including claims involving personal injury, wrongful death, sexual assault, negligent security, and medical negligence. She has also successfully defended foreign tour operators by having lawsuits brought against them dismissed on jurisdictional grounds.
Marian was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and is fluent in Spanish. She completed her undergraduate studies at Florida International University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. In 2016, Marian earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, she was a Legal Intern for the Children and Youth Law Clinic and also worked as a law clerk for a family law practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Marian practiced in the areas of First-Party Property Insurance Litigation, Complex Business Litigation, Premises Liability Litigation, and Professional Liability Litigation.
